The Ideological Mirage: Selective Compassion and the Death of Logic

Modern Politics

In the modern political landscape, compassion has become a gated community. It is no longer a moral response to human suffering, but a tactical tool used to advance a specific narrative. As an observer who values truth over the ballot box, the recent events in Minneapolis have exposed the absolute insincerity of the professional liberal activist class.

The “Martyr” vs. The Refugee

Compare the current uproar over Renee Good—a woman who deliberately placed herself in a volatile federal operation and used her vehicle as a weapon—to the silence surrounding Iryna Zarutska. Iryna fled a literal war zone in Ukraine seeking safety, only to be killed in a random, brutal attack by a repeat offender.

Where were the thousands of protesters for Iryna? Where were the mayors screaming expletives at the failure of the justice system to keep a violent criminal off the light rail? The silence tells you everything: Iryna’s death didn’t serve the “anti-enforcement” agenda, so her life didn’t warrant a headline.

The Contrast in Conduct

The difference in how these “sides” mourn is revealing. When Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated on stage, his supporters didn’t respond by hunting down law enforcement or spraying “Death to the Left” on city walls. They held vigils. They lit candles. They sought a return to peace.

Contrast that with the current “activism” in Minneapolis:

  • Incitement: Protesters targeting hotels where agents sleep, using bullhorns and high-powered lights to ensure no rest.

  • Propaganda: Local leaders like Jacob Frey using “the F-word” to signal their virtue while the streets they govern are lined with the “tent cities” of forgotten veterans.

  • Violence: Radical voices now openly calling for the shooting of ICE agents—threats so credible they’ve been flagged to the FBI.
